West Kingdom Western White Scarf with Grant of Arms Wording

For Guildmasters of Fence entitled to Grants and Ancient Guildmasters of Fence, use the same text, substituting the appropriate titles, with Courtier to the Crown of the West rather than Royal Courtier.

Text for a recipient with a prior Grant of Arms:

(Insert optional beginning if desired) Be it known that Their Majesties, (Insert King's first name) and (Insert Queen's first name), King and Queen of the West, do this day honor Their subject (Insert full Name of recipient), who has demonstrated his/her great skill in the Art of Defense and his/her courtesy both on and off the field. They name him/her a Royal Courtier, and admit him/her to the right noble Order of the Western White Scarf. Further, They do hereby affirm his/her Sole, Unique and Exclusive Right to bear (insert Blazon) by Grant in this Our Kingdom of the West.

(Insert optional ending and do not forget the date the award was given.)

Chivalry, courtesy, and excellence in the martial arts are commendable skills, and as one of Our Own has displayed their talents in the art of rapier combat, so do We, the Crown Trimaris, name Our good ___________ as a member of the Order of the White Scarf, Trimaris In witness to We do set Our hand and seal on this _____ day of _____ Anno Societatis _________.

ALTERNATIVE:

Excellence in the martial arts is a commendable skill, and courtesy and chivalry shall always be rewarded. Having displayed these merits in the art of Rapier Combat, then do We the Crown Trimaris name our good ____________ as a member of the Order of the White Scarf, Trimaris. Thus it shall be proclaimed this ______ day of _______ being Anno Societas ______________.


Outlands Order of the White Scarf of the Outlands Wording

We, _____ and _____, King and Queen of the Outlands unto all to whom these present letters shall come, Greetings.

Being mindful of the great skill with which [he/she] wields the rapier's flashing blade, and also of the exemplary courtesy shown, both on the field and off, by Our subject, ________, and willing that [his/her] person should be honored as required by [his/her] desserts and very valiant deeds, (4) We do therefore this day prefer and create [him/her] as a Defender of the White Scarf of the Outlands. From this day forth, [he/she] shall be styled ['Don'/'Doña'] in recognition of [his/her] achievements. We hereby confer the following Arms, by Grant of Arms: <BLAZON>, to be borne by [Don/Doña] ______ and none other as a sign of the esteem in which We hold [him/her]. {We further grant [him/her] the right to bear the insignia of this rank, to wit: Sable, on a pale argent between two rapiers proper, a stag's antler vert.}

Lochac Order of the White Scarf Wording

Let it be known that We Name by right of Arms King of Lochac and Name by grace and beauty, Queen of Lochac give greetings.

There are those who demonstrate outstanding ability in Rapier Combat in accordance with the Treaty of The White Scarf which holds high the standards of courteous and chivalrous behavior as well as service, and teaching.

We are pleased to confer unto recipients name the rank and Title Don of the Order of the of White Scarf.

Thus We also acknowledge this service with a Grant of Arms and confirm these arms to wit; enter arms as registered with the college of heralds.

We do request that they continue to further the knowledge of rapier with original research and in doing so promote advance the expertise in Our realm.

Caid Order of the White Scarf Wording

Let all who hear or read these presents know that We, King's name and Queen's name , King and Queen of the Realm of Caid, send Our commendation and greeting! For that skill in the art of Rapier Fence is highly prized in Our Realm, and when combined with exemplary courtesy and courtly deportment are the more worthy of praise, We hereby elevate Our subjectName to the Order of the White Scarf of Caid. We here proclaim his/her right to the style and title of Don/Doña, and by this Grant affirm his/her exclusive right to bear the arms Blazon . Moreover, as the mark of Our esteem, We here grant Don/Doña {recipient's first name} the right to bear the token of the Order: a white scarf, tied as a banderolle around a steel-grey helmet surmounting the shield, with mantling color  doubled metal [as is shown more clearly in the margin]. This We proclaim the date day of month, Anno Societatis SCA year, which is AD year of the common reckoning. In witness whereof, these presents have We signed by Our hand and sealed with Our Great Seal. So also does Crescent Herald of Caid witness by seal and signature to the validity of the name and armoury herein.

Be it known unto all whom these letters come, tat We, (names of King and Queen), King and Queen of Atenveldt, have recognized the skill you have shown in the Art of Defense with Rapier. Therefore, We are pleased to admit you, (name of recipient), as a Companion to the Order of the White Scarf of Atenveldt. We further confer upon you a Grant of Arms and having commanded Our Heralds to devise unique and suitable Arms, do grant unto you the following Ensigns Armorial, to wit: (blazon), and more plainly depicted herein. Henceforth ye shall have the sole and exclusive Right to bear these Arms throughout the Known World without let or hindrance. We also charge you to continue to share your experience in the Art of Defense with Rapier and to continue to demonstrate knowledge of the courtly graces which accompany its mastery.
