Gold is a symbol of victory and valor. In an equestrian it represents someone deeply dedicated to their art by actions and teaching. One such rider has come to the attention of the Crown of Atlantia. Gwenhwyfar de Hwytinton exemplifies these values, thus at War of the Wings, 18 October A. S. xliv, We induct her into the Order of the Golden Lance.

The Order of the Golden Lance is an inter-kingdom order (similar to the White Scarf) to recognize excellence in equestrian pursuits.

Both in times of war and times of peace the undaunted equestrian honed their battle skills in tournaments to prepare rider and steed for the defenses of our glorious kingdom. An equestrian has many virtues such as skill in riding, mounted precision at arms, and teaching of the arts equestrian; True leadership is displayed when all culminate in a symbiosis of horse and rider, to carry them to victory.

The Order of the Quintain has been established to recognize those of Our subject who have displayed skill and service in the equestrian arena.
