As the Lord in his wisdom
made man and woman helpmates one to the other, so has the queen been consort to
the Sovereign, First Lady to the Kingdom, Great Patroness of the Arts and
Sciences, and Genteel Hospitality personified. Therefore, Know all men by these
presents that We, (Sovereign's name) and (Consort's name), King and Queen of
Meridies, in recognition that our subject, (Recipient's name), has reigned as
Queen of this realm, do hereby style her Countess and Lady of the Rose, and do
reaffirm her right to bear these Arms in the Society for Creative Anachronism:
(Blazon). In witness whereof, We here set Our Hands and Seals this (number) day
of (month) Anno Societatis (Society year), being (year) Gregorian.
-To be signed by Sovereign
and Consort, with space for their seals. This award carries precedence and must
also be signed by Beacon Principal Herald, with places for a third signature
and seal.
ALTERNATIVE:
(Recipient does not have registered Arms)
As Beauty, Grace, Charm, and
Good Demeanor are all qualities worthy of praise and honor, We, (Sovereign's
name) and (Consort's name), Sovereign and Consort of the Laurel Kingdom of
Meridies, wish to reward One who has reigned and served Meridies as Queen, and
who has displayed these Qualities. Thus, hereby and herewith do We elevate Our
subject (Recipient's name) to the Rank and Estate of Countess and create her a
Lady of the Rose, bearing with this rank all duties, responsibilities, honors,
and privileges appendant thereto. Done by Our Hands this (number) day of
(month) Anno Societatis (Society year), being (year) Gregorian.
-To be signed by Sovereign
and Consort, with space for their seals. This award carries precedence and must
also be signed by Beacon Principal Herald, with places for a third signature
and seal.
